Steve Sievers is the co-creator, writer, producer, and voice of Daniel the Turtle for Supa Pirate Booty Hunt. This dork rocker grew up in Severna Park, MD where we had his own turtle farm. He originally came up with Supa Pirate Booty Hunt as a skit on his internet college radio show on WVAU at American University in Washington, DC. In 2004, his clothing line was a sponsor on Vans Warped Tour. It was at the Vancouver concert date in Canada that a fan of the radio skit asked Steve to record her cell phone voice mail greeting in the voice of Daniel the Turtle. Steve knew he had to do something with this silly skit about a pirate and turtle. He turned it into his master thesis project and moved to Los Angeles after graduation where he teamed up with Dahveed on the project.
He co-owned his own “wearable art” clothing line for nine years that was sold in Hot Topic, Disney Vault 28 store, on-line, and other stores worldwide. He worked at Disney as a freelance graphic artist, was a special effects assistant for the movie “The Devil’s Tomb”, built head pieces for Disneyland’s “Pixar Play” Parade and was an AR Rep for an indie record label. He has been a blogger for Lit Post, Mercy Airlift, Idle Hands, Green Light Jobs, and Hollywood Today. Today he co-owns Level 27 Media with his wife Chelsea Sievers which provides graphic design, video production, web design, and printing of all kinds. He is also executive producer at Continuum Motion Pictures and MCTV.
As a published comic book writer and artist from Washington DC, Dahveed Kolodny-Nagy moved to Los Angeles to expand into film production and animation utilizing his drawing skills first as a story board artist and then as an art director. He has been a visual artist on a multitude of films and television productions from Jimmy Kimmel Live to Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers. Kolodny-Nagy has art directed many of the segments currently playing on the Coca-Cola and Toshiba billboards in Times Square with the WOW Factor, Inc.
Currently Kolodny-Nagy is the creative director/CEO of Smorgasbord Productions, his own independent animation studio, where he oversees the work flow of a team of artists on freelance and in-house projects, completing work at the highest quality possible and making sure that the needs of clients are met. He is also busy creating original animated properties with partners including Simpsons producer/writer Daniel Chun, accomplished voice actor Greg Eagles (Grim on Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) and Steve Sievers, CEO of Level 27 Media. He currently has developed over thirty original series for television and the internet.
