Supa Pirate Booty Hunt has self published two comics with charity Music Saves Lives. Each comic book is double covered and contains two stories to help the non-profit’s national campaign to encourages young adults to donate blood.
First one features Zack in iconic Napoleon pose on the cover and featured an original Supa Pirate Booty Hunt story called Map to the Heart. The other side featured the animation Nurse Boobies Please turned into a comic book story. The comic book was given at a release party at an Golden Apple Comics that was sponsored by Monster Energy. Celebrities in attendance to support the comic book release was actors Lejon O. Stewart (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest) and Zack Ward (Christmas Story, Transformers) Creators signed comic book for fans at the event while they got to sample free Monster Energy drinks.
A signing tour took place in 2011. The comic book given out every date of the Vans Warped Tour which lasted two months all across USA & Canada. Steve Sievers did signing at the Music Saves Lives booth on Vans Warped Tour at the Pomona, CA San Francisco, CA San Diego, CA Las Vegas, NV Columbia, MD and Virginia Beach, VA.
The convention circuit was part of the tour. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators had their own booth at world famous San Diego Comic-Con. Every day of the convention they did comic book signings at it. Steve was an invented guest at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con and Wizard World Mid-Ohio Comic Con in Columbus, OH. Every day of those conventions, Steve did comic book signings to convention goers and was even interviewed by Wizard World TV about the comic book.
Second comic book featured animation episode turned into comic book story “Metal in My Shell” The comic book guest stars Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. The second half of the comic book featured a brand new story that takes place at San Diego Comic Con called “Shell Game” and guest stars voice over legend Tom Kenny. On the cover features Tom with bit and pieces of iconic characters he has voiced over the decades he has been doing voice over. The comic story also guest stars Tania Gunadi (Fox’s Enlisted, Transformers Prime) The story was inspired by the real life Daniel the Turtle costume that SPBH creator Steve Sievers wears at conventions & concerts. The poor costume has been messed with by lots of males and females. In the story, Tom is doing research for a turtle voice and is spying on Daniel the Turtle at San Diego Comic Con. The comic book also stars Tom’s son.
Supa Pirate Booty Hunt did another release party at Golden Apple Comics in Hollywood, CA. Tom Kenny, Tania Gunadi, voice of Captain Zack (Spike Spencer) and Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators Steve Sievers and Dahveed signed comic book for fans.
The comic book was also given out select dates of Vans Warped Tour, Supa Pirate Booty Hunt booth at San Diego Comic Con, and their SDCC after party they partnered with Digital LA.
