SPBH @ SDCC 2018 Recap

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 has come and passed. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt was pretty busy at it. First off SPBH co-creator, writer & voice of Daniel the Turtle Steve Sievers did a comic book signing last Saturday from 1 – 2 PM at eigoMANGA booth #1802. A limited amount of free SPBH comic books was given out and he showed off their VR comic book, which eigoMANGA produces the ComX VR app. 

Also on Saturday was SPBH being apart of Digital LA’s 10th Annual Comic Con After Party. The event took place at Origin Code Academy in downtown San Diego. It featured breath taking views of downtown, including right into Petco Park baseball stadium. Party goers enjoyed food/drinks, photo ops with characters, limited amount of SPBH comic books & tried our VR comic book.

Their big event was on Thursday night at SDCC. They hosted Superhero Summer Fest / Music Saves Lives Party SDCC After Party. It was at Buster’s Beach House right on the water in Seaport Village in San Diego. The party featured live acoustic Rock & Roll music by Smith and Clausen. Buffet food & free drink tickets to industry, press & VIP guests. Celebrity guests like Don “The Dragon” Wilson (Greatest Kickboxing Champion, Actor: Blood Fist, Batman Forever) and more. Signed special edition Supa Pirate Booty Hunt / Music Saves Lives comic book. Raffle prizes through out the night. All Proceeds Benefit the Charity Music Saves Lives, encouraging young people to donate blood using the power of music & entertainment!

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt co-creator @SteveSievers was featured in two newspapers at San Diego Comic Con. He was photographed by the Los Angeles Times with the actually Ant-Man costume from the film. Was also interviewed by SCC Press at their SPBH after party they partnered with Digital LA. Was held on the rooftop at the Marriot Gaslamp Quarter hotel at the Altitude Sky Lounge. Everyone who attended got to get free Daniel the Turtle wrist bands, signed Supa Pirate Booty Hunt comics from Dahveed & Steve, photos with Superheros at our photo booth area, and enjoy breath taking views of downtown San Diego. SPBH SDCC PACKED HOUSE AFTER PARTY

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators put on an after party at San Diego Comic Con with their friends from Muybridge Animation International. The “Animation Under the Sea” party was put on also to help get the word out and support the charity Music Saves Lives. The event featured attendees from the con to industry professionals such as voice actors, film producers, to comic book creators & artists. Press who covered the event got to interview SPBH co-creators Steve Sievers & Dahveed along with special guests Bill Plymton, Greg Berger, Neil Kaplan, & Greg Eagles. Famous PINATA artist Chibi Sen from Anime Chibi Sen made four different Daniel the Turtle pinatas. Including classic Daniel the Turtle, Cyborg Daniel the Turtle, Metal Daniel the Turtle (from Metal in My Shell Episode), and Nurse Daniel the Turtle (from Nurse Boobies Please episode). Artist Jon Larkins was on hand doing free digital caricatures for everyone. The event was filled to capacity at Joe’s Crab Shack & everyone got free swag from Level 27 Media and Smorgasbord Productions. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators screened their animated episodes at the event along with their trailer for Supa Pirate Booty Hunt The Documentary. Check out pics below from the event:

Our SDCC After Party

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators are putting on a San Diego Comic-Con after party to help benefit the charity Music Saves Lives. This free event is happening Friday July 19th at Joe’s Crab Shack from 7 – 9 PM. Joe’s Crab Shack is located directed behind the convention center, a five minute walk. The party will take place in the outdoor patio area and entrance for it will be on the side of the building. The event will feature free sway and free food/beer for attendees while supplies lasts. Guest of honor is voice actor Greg Eagles (Grim from Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy) and Gregg Berger (Grimlock from Transformers). There will be many other surprise celebrity guests throughout the evening. Everyone will have a chance to get their photo taken on the step & repeat red carpet at the event. The event is all ages but you must be 21 and over to drink. The event is free but we do except a line so if you would like to buy a Premium Ticket to help support Music Saves Lives, you can skip the line. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt the award winning animated series creators hosted the party with charity Music Saves Lives and famous voice actors Neil Kaplan & Richard Epcar. See the mayhem SPBH (Steve Sievers & Dahveed) creators get into after having some drinks. At the after party was the world premiere of the SPBH latest animated PSA episode for Music Saves Lives ‘METAL IN MY SHELL’ The episode guest stars Dave Mustaine of Megadeth & Full Metal Jackie. SPBH SDCC After Party

WHAT: Supa Pirate Booty Hunt the award winning animated series has joined forces with Music Saves Lives a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate people about the importance of blood donation and the bone marrow registry and to use all forms of music and entertainment to get the message out. Together they have produced animated episode PSA’s along with a comic book with their life saving message to reach out to the comic con audience. Each episode pairs Cpt Zack Stevers & Daniel the Turtle with a different music celebrity. Last summer’s episode ‘Nurse Boobies Please’ featuring Vans Warped Tour main stage artist 3OH!3 and it took home six awards at the Burbank International Film Festival.

 

WHEN: Saturday July 14th from 9 PM – Midnight at Wet Willies located at 555 Market Street at corner of 6th ave (only a couple blocks away from the convention center) The event is FREE for anyone, 21 + event.

 

Meet Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators Steve Sievers & Dahveed Kolodny-Nagy as they will be giving out FREE signed copies of MSL/SPBH comic book (while supplies last) Music Saves Lives director Russel Hornbeek will be on hand to discuss the charity concept and provide some free iTunes cards.

 

Be the first to view the animated PSA episode ‘METAL IN MY SHELL’ at the after party. The episode guest stars Dave Mustaine of Megadeth and Full Metal Jackie. Cpt Zack Stevers & Daniel the Turtle face Dave Mustaine in a rock off that warps time & space. The episode will be released on Music Saves Lives youtube channel the following week.

 

Fame voice actor Richard Epcar will be on hand at the party signingautographs. Richard has lead his voice to over 2,000 characters, mostnotable for Ghost in the Shell, Robotech, Transfomers, Street Fighter,& Mortal Kombat. Fame voice actor Neil Kaplan from from Transfromers Robots in Disguise, Power Rangers, Bleach, Starcraft II, Supa Pirate Booty Hunt, & more will be on hand signing autographs. Other surprise voice actors & artists will be stopping by the party so make sure to attend this free event!

OC Weekly / E3 After Party

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt co-creator Steve Sievers was a guest to Far Cry 3/ Twitch TV E3 Expo After Party at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Steve’s photo on the red carpet made it on OC Weekly.

 

Wondercon After Party

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt will be hosting their 3rd annual Happy Hour Social Wondercon after party along with eigoMANGA at the Eve Lounge this Saturday. The event is FREE and goes from 7 – 10 PM and is only a 5 min walk from the convention center. Mingle and connect with WonderCon attendees, fellow colleagues and pop-culture fans at Happy Hour drink prices, while we showcase Supa Pirate Booty Hunt animation on two giant plate glass video monitors at the Eve Lounge. Grammy's Party

The Grammy’s are tonight! Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators Steve Sievers & Dahveed were guest at the Music Saves Lives Green Grammy’s Party at the Gordon Ramsay’s London in West Hollywood last Thursday. The party featured live music & guests were treated to experience Eco-Lurxury brands such as Revolve: Earth Friendly Electronics, massage in the RC Green VIP Lounge by Medi-rub Corp & The Neck Work Experts , Peace Tea & Java Monster drinks with a purpose from the Monster Energy Bar, signature Ketel One cocktails, gastronomic bliss from  Gordon Ramsey’s Chefs, Pet products such as Fur Fitness & Green Dogs Formula, Rev 7 Gum, Hats from Goorin Brothers,  & others.
