SPBH @ SDCC 2018 Recap

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 has come and passed. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt was pretty busy at it. First off SPBH co-creator, writer & voice of Daniel the Turtle Steve Sievers did a comic book signing last Saturday from 1 – 2 PM at eigoMANGA booth #1802. A limited amount of free SPBH comic books was given out and he showed off their VR comic book, which eigoMANGA produces the ComX VR app. 

Also on Saturday was SPBH being apart of Digital LA’s 10th Annual Comic Con After Party. The event took place at Origin Code Academy in downtown San Diego. It featured breath taking views of downtown, including right into Petco Park baseball stadium. Party goers enjoyed food/drinks, photo ops with characters, limited amount of SPBH comic books & tried our VR comic book.

Their big event was on Thursday night at SDCC. They hosted Superhero Summer Fest / Music Saves Lives Party SDCC After Party. It was at Buster’s Beach House right on the water in Seaport Village in San Diego. The party featured live acoustic Rock & Roll music by Smith and Clausen. Buffet food & free drink tickets to industry, press & VIP guests. Celebrity guests like Don “The Dragon” Wilson (Greatest Kickboxing Champion, Actor: Blood Fist, Batman Forever) and more. Signed special edition Supa Pirate Booty Hunt / Music Saves Lives comic book. Raffle prizes through out the night. All Proceeds Benefit the Charity Music Saves Lives, encouraging young people to donate blood using the power of music & entertainment!

SPBH VR Comic Book Available now on iPhones

SPBH Comic Book Available in VR

 

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt comic book is now available in VR on Google Play on Android smart phones. Distributed by eigoMANGA which is a dgital media publisher of anime, manga, comic books & games. Click here to download the COMX VR in Google Play. The Supa Pirate Booty Hunt comic book is under Mad BeanZ bundle which is Dahveed’s other comic book which has been published by eigoMANGA.

 

Pictured above is SPBH co-creator & producer Steve Sievers trying out a beta version at eigoMANGA booth at San Diego Comic Con 2017. Steve “After trying out the beta version at SDCC, I was so amazed with it. Not only does your comic book come to life in VR but I also loved how interactive it was.” Since then Steve & Dahveed have been working with eigoMANGA into getting their Supa Pirate Booty Hunt comic book converter to VR format to be added to ComX VR. “Its been a long journey and I am glad to see it has ComX VR is available now on Google Play.” To experience the VR you must have a VR googles that hook up to your Android smart phone. Can always use the cardboard cut outs. Check out the promo video for it below.

Later in 2018, ComX VR will be available on iPhones. Steve Sievers “2017 was our year of getting our SPBH Doc movie distributed as much as possible. We had great success with our DVD/VOD available on Amazon, Target, Barnes & Nobles etc. 2018 is about getting SPBH into the interactive entertainment VR/Mobile Devices. Besides SPBH comic book available in VR and animation coming soon to VR thanks to VRX (Virtual Reality Xperience), we are also developing Supa Pirate Booty Hunt mobile game. We are still looking into what company/developers to partner with to bring it to life. Right now we are working on artwork and concept for it.”

Annie Awards 2018

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators attended last night’s Annie Awards at UCLA campus. The Annie Award is an American award for accomplishments in animation. The Annies have been presented by the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, ASIFA-Hollywood since 1972. Everything in the field from TV to Movies. Congrats to all the winners and check out photos of Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators Dahveed! & Steve Sievers on the red carpet.

SPBH Animation coming to VR

 

Supa Pirate Booty Hunt have partner with Jonathan Williams from VRX (Virtual Reality Xperience) to create some VR animation. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt co-creator / producer Steve Sievers “I meet Jonathan through different events I have done with my media company Bionic Buzz. We both have the same passion for VR & animation so it was a perfect fit to team up. In 2018 Dahveed and I will be working with Jonathan into either turning our existing animation or creating new animation in VR format.” VRX (Virtual Reality Xperience) is an award winning Los Angeles based  creative studio that develops 360° Videos, Virtual & Augmented Reality applications to promote art and culture through animation, 3D art and traditional art. As of now there is no time-able on release date. “We hope to have something out by this summer for the heart of con season in Southern California.” Stay tuned for more details.
